about
I was still figuring out how to put songs together at this stage (I still am), and I love musically and vibe-wise how this one landed. It's fun and sweet and groovy and a little bit of a call to arm for the creators among us (I believe ALL OF US), as we all continue forward making our world more beautiful.
It also reads a little like a diary - a snapshot of my head and where I was at at this time, there are snippets of a past romance blossoming, plus a lot of facing my fears to bring my dreams to life.
A lot of my tracks also seem to be quite positive affirmationey, I am rather hard on myself often (rather hard is a huge understatement)
lyrics
Wondering about me
How everything keeps changing
Been picking apart my pieces
And hoping you don't mind the bad
Black and gold
The colours of this rainbow
That's spinning over my bed
While i be trying to sleep here
My dreams are rattling
The cages in my head
We carrying on
Taking my fears apart yes
Been thinking of all the dreams we share
And I don't know if I should take this next step into your arms
It could be unwise my friend
Black and gold
The colours of this rainbow
That's spinning over my bed
While I'm creating dreams here
My love is shattering
The fears stopping me from starting
We carrying on
If you would like to see me doing just what I do then
You gonna watch unfolding a miracle of life in front of you
If you would like to know me then come and sit down for a while
Open your heart and trust that I will do all the best I can for us
The Chicago wunderkind's debut album is half lo-fi hip-hop pianos and breakneck drumming, half polished pop songs full of orchestral arrangements and whimsical but melancholic melodies. Bandcamp Album of the Day Nov 23, 2020
